The worst pain I have ever had was having my chest drains, leg drain and pacemaker wires removed without pain killers. I was given the option of morphine after my
op but told I would have to stay in hospital longer, so I said "no I am a big man, I will be fine" (was 16 at the time). Let's just say although I got to fly home earlier I wish I had had the morphine. I can't describe the pain, it is one of those you would have to experience it type things. I have a constant reminder of it as the leg drain for my femoral artery actually damaged nerves in my leg and I have constant pins and needles on the inside of my right thigh down to my knee.
