Hi all,
Just curious to hear from people that use their EF to tow a fully loaded tandem car trailer. (as in towing a car on a trailer :P) What kind of fuel consumption are you experiencing? I ask as I own a EF and have used it once or twice to tow about 2000kg (including trailer) it tows fine, but I can't say I was watching for fuel consumption. Depending on what kind of numbers get put up will determine whether I look at buying a new tow vehicle or continue to use the EF. Cheers, Michae1 |

I worked it out at about 15L/100km with approx 1500kg (small car on trailer), and 2-300kg in the back of the ute. It is manual too which might make a difference from the auto, I would use 5th gear on the flat (2000rpm with 3.45 diff) and change down to 4th if there was a hill

Our EB 4L used about 45L of fuel towing a VR Commo on a very heavy tandem trailer for 150km (30L/100Km), lots of hills cruising at between 60 & 90, locked in third with power switch on.
Only used about 15L dragging the empty trailer over there at 100km/h. |
