Default Ah what now! minor problem

Ok..this car has has been bullet proof until the other day, but I guess it was more my fault than the cars.

Long story short I was in the KFC drive through which felt like AGES, and I didn't notice my temp guage in the, all the way.

So I shat myself and shut it down pronto. But then I had to move up so I crank it back on and then POP...steam is ****ing everywhere and right about now I am cursing my head off, and hoping my damn HG hasn't gone aswell.

But all is kinda well, I push the car out of the way and have a look. Luckily (I think), only the hose that goes under the reserve bottle popped off and let all the pressure out. So i put it back on and get 8 litres of water from someones front yard :

I waited until it cooled and then started her up, all is well and it looks like the head is fine because no vapour/steam is coming out of the exhaust at all.

To my problem....lol.....now the BRAKE FAIL light has come on. It could be a conensidence (sp?), but perhaps all the steam/water fudged up a sensor somewhere?

My brakes work just fine, I could do with new pads and rotors but I am pretty sure my fully sik EA cant tell what condition they are in?

Its a little unnerving having that light on, I can handle the battery one but not the brakes...lol

So what the hell does it mean and how do I fix it?

Alas my good run was doomed form the start really.

Thanks in advance. : :
