I don't think we need to debate what triggers people or what people find threatening.
I think it does come down to trying to understand other people's perspective. You are free to disagree with that perspective but try to understand it. As a man, how would you feel about having your reproductive issues debated and voted on by only women. Imagine that you had no say in it. You would be pretty annoyed. That's the sort of crap women have had to put up with. To that end I would recommend the ABC series Ms Represented as a great series to watch. Think about the fact that 1/2 our population is women and then think about the lack of representation they have had. It's not a feminist propaganda series and gets the point across quite well. There are some accomplished politicians there discussing their experience in parliament. I think the best quote was from Vandstone. She said she will know that we have equal representation when stupid women can get elected as easily as stupid men. Quite true.
