Default Solar 4x4 or Caravan Kits

Hi all,

I'm currently setting up an eBay store, selling Sustainable or Fair-Trade products. What I would be interested to know, is:

Who would buy something like a small solar PV system for your Caravan or 4x4 or something? because I see those kinds of kits in BCF and sometimes Repco and that, but they're a bit pricey compared to what else is available out there.

I know there are a few hardcore camping guys here, just thought of adding that on my online store when it opens and wanted to see what people would think

Cheers guys!

A mate of mine is a tech head wth three teenage sons. He's just done three weeks in Tassie in a camper trailer and used the solar set up to provide power for the computers.

I reckon you're on a winner.

People would buy them, but you're competing with a lot of sellers already on ebay that offer this stuff.

How about a decent automotive solar battery charger? Supercheap don't sell theirs anymore which is a bummer because the one I got from them is a bloody good unit.

I've found some pretty good prices for the solar trickle battery charger, basically a small solar panel that sits on your dash board and trickle charges your battery by plugging into the cigarette lighter.

Will have those up online for about $20 including postage soon, if any one would be interested of course it's not a battery bank or anything, just a small solar charger haha

The difference with the SCA one is that it had an in-built regulator with automatic cutoff.

Mine has the cigarette socket plug thing as well, but in order for it to work, I think the circuit needs to be open and in most modern cars that won't happen unless the ignition is on?? Mine came with alligator clamps so I just connected them straight to the car battery.
