hi all,
well i'm seriously thinking about going to manual. i gave Mal Wood a ring today and he quoted me $2500 for a rebuilt T5 with everything i need to do it (all new stuff), $750 for them to do it all and an extra $1000 on top of that if i go a T5Z. also he has a 10 1/2'' flywheel out of a BA XR6T that he thinks will be awsome with it and a upgraded clutch/plate for another $300 on top. so now i need to know: 1. anyone near toowoomba/brissy know how to install it all? 2. do i need a manual computer? if so do i have to go 1 out of a EBII or ED to match my car? 3. does the loom need to be modified? 4. do i need a manual ecu if i get a haltech or somthing similar? 5. anyone have a link to a website to work out rpm at certain speeds with different ratios tyre sizes. 6. is there any difference in the tail shaft? 7. anyone recommend a clutch? well i'm off searching this forum to find out more about it. thanks pete j |

1. dont kno
2. yeah why not, its easier. if ur car is an eb2 u will need an eb2/ed one because of smartlock 3. the loom that comes with the box should plug into the existing one. 4. same as 2 5. no sorry 6. mine went straight in 7. get one with a 1tonne clamping pressure. brass button is good enough

hi all,
well i've had enough of a break from my car so i'm ready to get back into it. so at the moment i'm at tafe and still got another 5 weeks to go, but as soon as i'm finished their i'm taking a week's holiday and getting a few things done. T5 conversion sepentine belt A/C back in ready to be tested and fixed comp pace maker extractors and mandrel bent 2 1/2 mercury system so it should be a good week. at the moment i'm chasing up things i need (anyone got an XH belt tensioner they wanna get rid of). if anyone has any thoughts on the flywheel/clutch combo let me know, but by the sounds of things the ba flywheel with the xr8 clutch seems to be good. pete j |
