The nostril vent in the bonnet also didnt look very well integrated. I find the XR's of that era alot more tasteful in their design. The interior of the ELGT though would have to be one of the best Ford has ever done (love the high end E-series interior design still, its aged very well). Very nice trim with lashings of leather everywhere.

To me in exterior look terms, for road presence, sure the EL GT had more but it was kind of for the wrong reasons (again plastic bolt on's all over it).

The ELXR's get my vote for overall looks. They have and will continue to age well!
GT was meant to stand out and say "get the hell out of my way". I know it sounds cliched but seriously, take a look at one in real life, the pics really do not do them justice. They just scream "move it or lose it NOW", even if it was only a baby windsor.

EL GT.

Almost bought one, but it got too expensive. So got a BF GT-P instead.

i think its a matter of a opinion really its one of those cars you either love or hate.. personally i dont fear the gt i just get out of the way to avoid the ugliness in my eyes.. so i guess it is effective in that way!!!

Also a value proposition. Would you spend $80K on a 10 year old car, or a brand new one. The EL GT got past my limit of $50K.

depends, EL GT prices bottomed out then started rising..
so could end up being an investment.

Absolutely, dont be fooled, EB and EL GT's have pretty much gone as low as they will get; its all up from here IMO.

Yeah its pretty hard finding an EL GT for under 30K. Look at the prices of a VS or VT GTS (apart from the GTSR), they havent been able to retain the same value of the GT.

The EL GT without a doubt....that car was absolute horn, and should have had the 5.6 Ltr Windsor stroker to begin with...IMO...

Cheers

If it came with the stroker back in 97, Holden wouldn't have had a competitor.

EL GT's look like crap its horrible front end.... on them. Ford should be ashamed for the design (Sorry to say)
I would rather a EL XR. They look so much better.
