Hey guys,
So i have found these on ebay for $660 Including postage. http://cgi.ebay.com.au/MONROE-GT-SHO...item4aa834e04f I was really keen on getting the eibach prokit till i found this. It seems really cheap to me. Please throw me some of your experiences with the springs and shocks to help me decide. And some pictures would be awesome too. Cheers Jason

I too was thinking of these, I'll be interested to see other peoples experiences with
them, I was looking at the ultra low's. For the dolllars they look good.

It's a pretty decent setup, I have it on my P250.
The springs are as good as any, but the shocks are just ok. Better than standard Tickford shocks, but nothing on a Koni or Bilstein. Excellent value for money, but there is better at a cost.

Out of curiosity, what makes you think it's cheaper than an Eibach kit? I'm about to change shocks and springs too, hence the question...
The Eibach kit costs 220 + postage, and you should be able to get Boge shocks for about 400 + postage again from what I've read which should make it roughly the same price. However if you are looking for superlow height, I'm not sure whether Eibach make the springs/whether they are as cheap, the 220 ones are supposed to sit between low and superlow. http://www.eibachdirect.com/p/523840/pro-kit.html I'm more worried about the complaints from a few about Kings and Monroe being too stiff. Sorry if this is a hijack OP ![]() |

It's fine mate, I'm not sure!!!
I heard better things about the eibachs but found these which i considered to be cheaper. I kinda want it to be stiff ![]() Are the Boge shocks shortened and still a sports shock absorber? Cheers Jason

Ahh yes, from what I understand, if you want it to be stiff then Kings are a better option. And I think Boge provide standard and shortened shocks. I think blueoval with the supercharged AU will be able to comment on how 'sporty' they are, I've never experienced either before. How low do you want to go though?
EDIT: Here's blueoval's opinion on the Eibach's when he got them fitted. http://fordforums.com.au/showthread....1&page=3&pp=30 |

have these in my AU wagon....kings sl front, leafs rear with the gt shocks and find them to be very good, firm but the bumps aren't sharp if ya know what i mean.
I am putting them in my F6 next month as i reckon the wagon feels better now in the front.

BA GTR, Well i have an xr6 so its already 25mm lower then a standard model, so the kings would drop it another 25-30mm which would have about 10mm from the tyre to the guard.
I still cant decide if thats too low :( I wish i could go for a ride in exactly the same car with the springs and shocks to know if thats what im after! Still in the process of weighing up the decision Cheers Jason

Here are a few pics of my au1 forte with king sl springs, monroe gt sports shock/struts. the shockies were purchased new from ebay, the springs were used.
i find they ride hard and you really feel it on less than good roads, maybe new springs might improve this though?? i used kings and pedders red on an ef6 and feel it didnt ride as harsh. i also found the monroe gt shocks body length and piston travel to be the same as the standard shocks off the forte, maybe the difference is on the inside. i wont be buying them again. ![]() ![]() ![]() Last edited by TK-421; 08-02-2011 at 11:21 PM. i have a cousin with king ultra lows and monroe gt shocks in a el sedan. it is so harsh it's nearly unbearable unless you're on a freeway. but with the harsh ride it handles unbelievably well, almost no body roll and it's so flat and stable through the twisties.
so the rides harsh but if you can give up some comfort for handling there awesome. another downside is you can't really carry much in the boot or more than 2 passengers. but i suppose that's just the spring height.

i find the ride pretty good for a lowered car.....no fairmont ride mind you.
mine measures 335mm from centre of rim to gaurd.(front) makes a big difference to what rims you run,i did have 19's on it but changed to some bf 17's,a lot more forgiving.
