I have the opporunity to change the 14" steel wheels on my EA II Fairmont to a set of the 15" blade alloys used on the S-Pak and Fairmont Ghias. I thought I'd need to change to a lower profile tyre to keep the speedo readings the same but every Falcon/Fairmont I've looked with the 15's at has the same profile as mine (R65 from memory) so will I need to worry or does mine have a different set of gears in the speedo (I'd find that hard to believe given I have the sports instrumentation) or a different diff ratio that I can;t seem to find any info on?

You will find the profile on the 15 is lower than the 14, unless you had wider tyres than standard on the 14's.
205/65/15 is standard on 15" wheels.
