I am in the process of installing a water temp gauge in the eb. It's electronic not mechanical. It come with a sender but there is already one under the thermostat so i plugged a double adapter into that and had the gauge and the dash one runnning off the same sender. This of course gave me a false reading on both. I can only have one or the other.....is it possible to have both accurate at the same time ?
Please help fellas.... Cheers Pete

If you are fitting aftermarket because you don't trust the standard one, then dissconect the standard one.

nah it'll throw the readings out of whack as you have found. I disconnected the factory one and put the autometer sensor in and just hooked up to the wire behind the dash. I rememeber I tried splitting the signal with diodes etc but nothing worked....

neb...
oil pressure on dash is hammered, it "ticks" rather than a solid reading, and it aint the sender, its the gauge... and water temp because i am having some heating probs and i will know exactly what temp my engine is running at to see if the thermostat is working correctly. The dash says "normal" but between the "n" and the "l" there is about 40-50 deg celcius difference.....if its sitting on the "l' that aint normal. Takes some of the guess work out.

As I said above, just put 2 sensors in the thermostat housing. The early E-series have 2 holes tapped (extra one for climate control in high end models I think). Im using one of these housing to run 2 sensors on my ef
