Default Lowering the Car

Can someone please explain to me the lowering process.
I have a quote from Pedders for new gas struts and coil springs all around dropping the car by 35mm from standard.
Do I need the gas struts as well as the springs just to get it lower?
Pedders (Osborne Park) quoted me $1309 fitted.

Well to just lower your car you can just fit the springs but it will be heaps better with new shocks. Chances are they need replacing by now anyway

Pedders will probably only fit the springs with new shocks purely coz they want to do a proper job (and they want your money).

I think you can do a lot better than $1309.
Pedders is just a name to me...
And for that price i dont think 35mm needs new shocks.
If you were dropping 2inches then new shocks would be ideal.
But then again...if you do have the original shocks in then it might be a good idea to go the new shock option aswell as they'd be ready for replacement anyway.

Ive found that its cheaper to get your car lowered prettymuch anywhere than pedders, even using all pedders gear eg.. $800 from one place and $1300 from pedders using all the same parts. So if you do go for it it does pay to to some ringing arround.

you should be able to lower it yourself with just springs for around $220 and some friends to help - provided your shocks are in ok condition... then you can save and get some good shocks (And with the knowledge gained from the initial lowering, you can put those in yourself too!)

I've driven both a pedders lowered car, and a superlow + standard springs lowered car, and there is no comparrison. The pedders struts make for an ideal ride, while the superlows+std shocks bounce and are crappy compapred.

So you're comparing pedders springs and shocks to superlows with flogged out factory shocks? Of course the ride is going to be better.

Pedders charge like a wounded no bull. Pedders stuff is just Monroe stuff painted red anyway. Shop around, you'll get it at a much better price. Or if you're feeling game do it yourself, it isn't too hard.
