Thought it might be of interest to someone. FB marketplace XR8 III with 347. Unknown details other than its auto, black, sunroof, 220,000kms, reported to be rough (NFI), has tickford TB, 220 maniforld and orignal engine cover, NOT an FTE motor. 8k

Good price if the engine is in great shape and running well, once you parted the rest of the car out it wouldn't owe you much.

just re-looked at the ad which has been updated to say they have a build sheet from the previous owner. Body looks straight but heavily oxidised paint, possible hood lining sagging but has rebel kit, pov pac interior and 17" wheels. Notes to say scat rank, rods, 3thou srp pistons. Running rough.

the build sounds good, there are a lot of risks with these types of builds if you don't know what you're doing. If it were me, I would get a periscope and inspects all the bores, remove rocker covers to inspect the valvetrain as well as pull the sump off for inspection before purchase. I'd want to hear it running

Good advice. I've put this in the AU For Sale section. I've left the comments above as future advice for looking at engines.
