Default Popular car models banned under major road rule change

Which vehicles are going to be affected?
New ADR rules will phase out many popular cars in Australia, banning those without AEB once the regulations take effect.

The petrol-powered Fiat 500 and Abarth models, along with certain LDV G10, V80, and Mahindra Pik-Up variants, will be discontinued due to non-compliance, according to The Australasian Fleet Management Association (AfMA).

Mainstream models like the Mitsubishi ASX, Eclipse Cross, Pajero Sport, and older Renault Kangoo and Trafic will also be affected. Suzuki’s Baleno, Ignis, and S-Cross will be pulled from sale as well.

Even high-performance and luxury cars aren’t spared — models like the Aston Martin DB11 and DBS, Lamborghini Aventador and Huracan, and some Porsche 718 versions will no longer be available, the AfMA said.

BS. New ADRs don't impact cars currently on sale. Even new models can generally get an exemption based on grandfathering the platform

Why do we need all these new laws affecting safety in cars? Legislate that airbags and collapsible steering columns are to be replaced with a solid steel shaft & a nice chrome acorn nut to hold the steering wheel on and see if people start to pay attention to whats happening on the road.

The human race needs to stop trying to reverse the process of evolution.

Pity the ADR's didn't go far enough and ban giant TV screens on the dashboards and tiny, tiny indicators no one can see in broad daylight.

The only thing that needs to be banned is silly driver aids in general. Starting with AEB.

One of the most ridiculous and unsafe pieces of technology to ever be created for a vehicle.
