It has been rumoured that all emergency services vehicles (police, ambos & fireies) in the southern states are being fitted with bells due the the discovery that some people can't hear sirens...........

It has been proven that our ears can't distinguish where the siren noise is coming from.
The frequencies just don't work with our brain. UK fire trucks drag big chains (only short sections) which jingle down the road. You can hear them even when the sirens are off. Easy way of telling if one is around. |
