hello guys,
just wondering... i wanna make my gear stick alot shorter than what it is. any suggestions? is it something u can just chop off to a length u want? if so, then will the gear knob and the leather boot still fit alright? or can u buy whole new levers? if u can buy new levers are they pretty easy to replace? any help would be much appreciated thanx alot guys dave |

While shortening the lever will make it feel shorter, It just now requires more mechanical force. For a true short shift you need to buy a short shifter. A Rip shifter as Damo suggested, or B&M Ripper Shifter etc. All these are very good, but cost upwards of $350. I am trying to organise a group buy for some US made billet shifters here if you are interested ;)

I've got a shortened lever just for the fact that I was sick of having something that looked like a broomstick as a gear lever. Jim Mock Motorsport did mine for me but most metal working places should be able to cut the middle section out and weld it back together.
