Speed camera's

Dont know if anyone saw the "Today Tonight" special on the speed cameras being used more for revanue and not for saftey but im watching it and its like its a whole new thing, like no one understood that they have a target to meet each day.

just venting how annoying it is that its been put out there now and im betting nothing will be done, cameras will still be faulty booking innocent people and there will be dodgy chagers made everywhere. just my opinion

No word on education instead more about revenue raising......

No Driver Ed - as that will cost the Government.

What peas me off is that pedestrians are part of the road toll - so some one who doesn't have a licence and is walking and gets hit by a car becomes part of the road toll when usually its no fault of the driver what so ever.

Also alot of deaths on the road are caused by un-licenced drivers who don't care about cameras or fines anyway - prob dirivng a car with no rego as well.

Its all about increasing the road toll number so then they can add more speed cameras - as that doesn't in victoria - well its not working - they will soon have zero tolerance on speed - so if your 1klm over you get done.........

thought i did at one point, but havnt heard anything about it, prooblem was i wasnt speeding, didnt go through a red light, no one around me and yet i see a nice big flash

when was that

i have had a few flashes latley and not had a ticket

i have had one a few months back though

was about 3 and a half weeks ago. i read somwhere that they were trying some new cameras and that any pics taken wouldnt get charges during this test period

i got a fine in the mail speed cam and it took 4 weeks from the day i got the pic taken so could still get it lol hope not for you

i didnt even see the one i got the fine from

but i know i was def in the area and was prob speeding so not worth fighting ( was picking the wifes grandma up for the christening of our neice )

ahh fare enough.

they have these new cameras, mounted on top of white for territories, soon to be diffrent colours, and by the time you see them its too late and they book upto 6 lanes at once.

Here in NSW all the advertising talks about WHITE terribles with RTA stickers on the driver's side. The only one that I've seen operating was that nice sort of metallic black colour on the Pacific highway at Ballina a few weeks ago. The warning signs were out but angled so as not to be noticed until too late..Get a UHF CB and listen to the trucks for early warning.
