have a problem with auto ,when i put it in drive and try to drive off the car stalls and runs real bad and wont go and the dash light comes on and off but when i put it in 1st and drive the car like a manual it drives alright is it the transmission or what could it be something else

First and easiest thing to do is to check the level of the trans fluid and for any leaks
