Hi guys
Just acquired myself a 2001 AU XR6 sedan and the light behind the fan speed switch wasn't working. Thinking it was just a globe, I proceeded to remove the trim to check it out. After spending an hour removing the radio then breaking the retaining clip on the heater control cable ![]() Thanks in advance. |

Ha, I just went through exactly the same process myself. Mine is a series 1, but found the globes are a small minature type in a plastic base. They're not removable.
Ford could not sell me replacements, and neither could jaycar or any of the auto shops. I just about tried them all. Ended up going to an electronics supplier and grabbed some globes of similar size and soldered them in myself. You might also find LEDS but I couldn't find any the right size or 12v.

Did you have to take the whole switch out of it's frame to get to it?

No, but mine is a series 1 so might be different. Pulled the knob off the switch and popped of the casing to get to the circuit board behind. Be careful as the little plastic tabs that hold it in place break easily.

I bought one of these as my A/C switch had the clear coat peeling off it and the fan control rotary switch had a scratch in it:
