Boot open light on

Hello,

We have Focus LT CL. When driving the dash screen says 'boot open' and the red light near it is on. However the boot is closed.

Also when locking the doors with the remote, the indicators do not light up. Although they do light up when opening.

Any ideas what the problem could be?

possibly dirty micro switch in boot lock.

Focuses have a nasty habit of doing this. I agree with marg. I have used my Focus as a fisherman's ATV. Mine is probably dirty as buggery.

I have had them replaced a few times, and once a twice a year they have an "episode" - no big deal, goes away on its own.

the other thing to try is with hatch closed push it inmore.
it could be adjustment but most likely crook micro switch.
