Default Best place for lifters

Just wondering where would be the best/cheapest (they are probably two very different things) place to buy lifters from? I want to stop this ticking once and for all. Its slowly driving me crazy:

The best place for lifters is definately the engine, mate! Some people put them in the bathroom - this is a mistake.

(try Ebay)

rebuild kits? do you mean the lifter seals like what Jim Mock sells? If so yes I have and they didnt help. And now the lifters keep falling out of the rockers because the seals aren't a tight fit.

You gotta laugh at some people especially if they are a mate of Mark Latham
Seriously, I got a complete set of rockers, lifters and a cam from Pick-a-Part for 40 bucks.
They were the smaller later model lifters to replace the large ones in my EA.
Stripped and cleaned all the lifters, new rubber caps ($20), swapped the whole over including the cam and the car runs much betterly with no clonk clonk clonk on start up and a constant tick tick tick when driving.
(Changed the oil and filter as well which I now think I should do more often having seen the sh*t that builds up in the lifters)

I agree with going to bursons to buy them, A friend of mine has replaced all of them in his el with burson HLA's and they seem pretty good

Hey I replaced the lifters on my EA a few months ago, afterwards it used to tick above 2k or so, but now it's all the time (with a brief `chunk chunk' until engine pressure). Do I have to replace the damn things again, or should I write it off as `just another Falcon thing'?

Try using later model rocker gear. They must have changed the design for a reason and its very different between EA and EF. The wrecker gave me a EA one to start with, but I took it back when I realised how poor the design was. I have an EF one in the forsale section if interested.

I prefer the EB2 rocker gear rather than the later ED,EF,EL style... I've always had more problems with the later rocker gear, the older style does the job well

True.. I agree with you there. I did post this thread after all but for a performance application I would still use the EF style. Less inertia ect.
