Default Horn going crazy

today while i was at work and car at home my brother rang me and said my horn had been going full bore for about 2 min and was still going while i was on the phone to him car was locked i had keys, so there was nothing he could do, it kept going till it died bout 2-3min, i got home and it wont work anymore, dont have a alarm, has anyone even heard of this before or what caused it? car is EL, does that mean i need a whole new horn assembly?

yes happens quite a bit :P funny when it does when your driving though... ahh good times
It may be because of wear away of the pads?

happened why you were driving how did you stop push the pads?
i mean wit mine it was helpless there was nothing me or my brother could do, it just went till it virtually blew up! you know how loud they are

aha na not to me, but someone driving next to me... happens quite a bit you here a lot of stories about it all.

Take off the horn cover, check the pads and see if they have deteriorated

its usually the pads, had same probly (stilll not fixed lol)

Happened to me half way home from my Dads old place when i first just got the car. Never have I had so many people get out of my way hehehe. ended up the horn pad had totally disintegrated and the two plates just fell together.

does ur cruise still work?
the constant use of horn may of blown the fuse or something.

yes it does, i hardly use the horn, the horn on steer wheel isnt worn down? i cant pull that piece of can cos it da airbag?

i don't even have horns in my car.
the airbag/horn pad comes off as one peice.
2 bolts into the sides of the steering wheel.
