My clutch pedal is a bit on the hard side so im wondering if anything can be done to soften it? The clutch cable is fairly new and its a pretty standard duty clutch. On H series Holdens you can change the pivot point to give you more mechanical advantage but longer travel of the clutch pedal.. Do E series have anything like this?
Cheers. |

heavy clutches are mad, ya could always lay some rubber, that gets the clutch slippin and therfor wearing it away, which will inturn give u alittle play at the beggining of the peddal, but it will also leave u with about 2mm off ya clutch plate, eheh, but tis fun.

There's a nut at the firewall you could have a play with to adjust the stroke. Mine was extremely stiff and didn't seem to engage properly. Spent an arvo stuffing around adjusting it then taking it for a spin until I got it how I wanted. She's a fair bit lighter now, but still by far the heaviest clutch I've ever used.

Hows your pedal box? Generally they get harder when pedal box is about to break.

you could try a little wd 40 (spray can with squirt hose on the end great tool) on pedal bushes cable etc , a smear of graphite grease on pressure plate fingers can help too, a dab on the end of a screw driver through the fork hole if possible, can use a small mirror to aid in this

Lets face it fellas.
No matter how perfect your clutch setup is, the e-series to a t5 are the stiffest pedals you can get.....well to my experience and i have driven some old school cars, i drove an 82 land cruiser and even that had a bettter clutch. I have spent many arvos under the car and my clutch has come a long way from what it was but its still the stiffest i have driven.
