Just wondering if anyone has replaced their cable clutch with a hydraulic one. Probably just a waste of time and money but i'm getting a bit sick of wrestling with my cable clutch in traffic. Would a hydraulic clutch make it feel lighter?
Opinions on this job are more than welcome.

you hate wrestling with the cable in traffic. i got a heavy duty clutch how do you think i feel :P. grow some muscles.
in all seriousness, yes it has been done. but i think the price is more than offputting to all but the most dedicated e-series tinkerers. |

If your clutch is heavy then you probably need a new clutch cable. If you leave it that way for too long youll tear the firewall.
Ive had two heavy duty clutches now and I wouldnt describe either as being that heavy.

get an Xtreme clutch, they are light as but stronger than standard. Or else maybe you just need a new cable? It shoudn't be that heavy.

read the cleveland into ea thread and have a look at what I did. You would need to have your bellhousing modified or replaced with an aftermarket one to suit the slave cylinder but it's not that difficult or really expensive.

I agree with the boys, if it appears heavy then get a new cable. Mine started ripping the firewall after 8 months when i did the conversion as i used the old cable. It eventually ate thru the outer casing and then snapped. Put a new cable in and it feels like half the pedal effort to use. Im lucky i didnt break the pedal pivot.
