Hi all.Can anyone reccommend where I can get forged pistons for the au six? I was told they must be custom made.

SPS make fairly good custom pistons, i know JMM had a lot to do with making up forgies but im not sure if its only the E-series or not. But he may know where to source them off the shelf.

I was surprised to hear that there arent forgies available. I dont know much about bottom end workings and still learning. To get some more power out down the track forgies shouls be the way to go.

Snce the EF, the six has used hypereutectic pistons. The AUs have lightened versions. These should be ablee to handle a reasonable amount of power.

au pistons in general are of pretty good quality and can hold up a fair bit, however ACL does make a replacement set for all Ford 6 cyl

Hmm...so later if I wanted to strap on a huge turbo it may not handle it. Later the realistic goal is big power.

Well just checked the catalouge and it says that they are 30% stronger than original. However they do have xr6 turbo forged pistons. So if I was you i'd buy a set of those which are the same size, just reduced compression and put them in when the turbo goes on.

Stav, go a set of XR6 Turbo pistons and get them fly cut. Apparantly it is inexpensive.

XR6T pistons are pretty common and made by a few different companies.

Give Brad at http://atomicperformanceproducts.com/ a call, he can cater for all 6's, EA - BA.

I may drop him a line when the time is right ..I am seeing tht realistically 350-500 rwkws is posible but the bottom end will need the mumbo to take it.
